English language challenges

Since always English has been very hard to me. My school was always bad in this matter, I remember that my English teacher always talked about his life in classes and in Spanish, so I could say that I did not have English in school. Because of this, having English at the university was very frustrating for me, it is very difficult for me and I do not understand many things about English.

I think that of all the English that I have done, this has been the one I liked the most, because I liked doing the blog a lot, because in this way I go at my own pace and without anyone watching me directly. The same as with the video, no one was there observing me and it did not make me nervous, because I've always had problems speaking in front of a lot of people, so, having no evaluations that were not talking in front of everyone, it made me feel very comfortable course. Besides that I met very nice classmates who always help me when I do not understand something.

Clearly, all my English must be improved, I am very bad and today this language is very important all over the world. English also opens doors of work, which makes it very important to know, so I must try harder to learn this language, I still do not know how, but it is something I always have in mind.

Finally, I would like to thank my teachers a lot, they have always been very concerned about looking for new ways to teach and that students are more interested in this language. I find it very unfair with everything that has happened lately, English teachers have been very good teachers, the only bad thing is this university.

Changes to my study programe

I think the main problems of the universities and their careers is that they have many obligatory subjects that could be optional. I think this is important, because being considered as elective some obligatory subjects students could go specializing in what interests them most for their future professional career and dedicating more time to that while they are in college.

About my career, sociology, last year a new curriculum was implemented to make improvements in the career. I think this can be considered an advance, but I think that this curriculum is missing more things. I think a greater perspective of gender in the career in general is necessary, in this new curriculum they add the subject "sociology of gender", but I think adding a single subject is very little, it is necessary to give gender content to the whole career and its different subjects.

About the academic load I think it's okay, most of the teachers always have the disposition to organize from our times for the amount of work or tests that we must deliver. I think the sociology teachers are the friendly in comparison with the other professors of the other faculty careers.

And finally, about the facilities of the faculty, I think that many things are missing. First, I think more classrooms are needed for the number of students there, considering that more people come in every year and there are always problems with the classrooms. And second, I think a larger and quieter library is also necessary, this faculty is characterized by reading a lot and the library that there is very small.

Personal opinion

Hi everyone, today I will write about my opinion personal about some different matters through the following questions.

• What is your opinion about legalizing abortion in some cases?

I believe that the legalization of abortion should be for all cases. It's good that there is a legalization for some cases, but this is not enough for the social, economic and cultural reality that women live, which can be very different from each otrher, that is why it is necessary to understad these different realities in order to legalize all cases abortion, the reality is very unequal and unjust.

• What is your opinion about the Chilean tradition called ‘mechoneo’?

I have always disagreed with the "mechoneo". I think it'ss tradition that humiliates the new students of the universities, that many times is the abuse from the older students to the newest. I understad that the mechoneo was created to have fun, but this has reached other levels, where humiliation is the main one, I think it can't be considered a welcome for the new students.

• What is your opinion about child labor?

I totally disagree with child labor, this is only to exploit the weakest, that is, the children. I think that in these cases there is also an abuse of powe, because children don't have a voice of command, especially those who have to work. I think that child labor is a type of obligatory work, because children don't have to defend themselves. Children who must work have to do ir for need, such as not having to eat, or live.

• What is your opinion about tatoos?

When I was younger I thought thta tattos should be made with a special meaning, I thoughy it was no necessary to get a tatto, it was just beautiful. Now I think the opposite, because finally everything makes sense, if you find that you eant to tatto something just because you find it very beautiful ot because you like it, thar already has a meaning. Clearly, there are tattos thar have deeper meaning that reflect some of the life of the person who made it, but in the end we are all diferent and we give meaning to out things in different ways, or we just don't want to make sense to things, and this is what can happen with tattos, it's our body and we can do whatever we want in it. I lile many tattoos. I would do many but I need money hahaha.

My Childhood

I like to think my childhood because it brings me beautiful memories. One if the songs that remind me of my childhood are the songs of "Cachureo", because I always saw it with my brother and sang all its songs.

My first memory of my childhood was when I was 3 years old and we were moving on to new house. I remember going in the car and asking my grandmother if this was the house. When we got out the car, I remember going into the house and it was full of people helping to install the things in the house.

However, one of my favorite memories of my childhood was when I was 4 years old and my brother was 3. We were tricycle through the patio of the house and at one point my brother told me "look what I can do" and started walking on the tricycle very fast and collided with a tree. I worried a lot, I went to see him and he was laughing a lot, so I started laughing with him.

In my childhood I did everything with my brother, so we learned to do everything together. We learned to ride a bicycle very small, between 5 and 6 years, it was our favorite activity, we went our every afternoon to ride a bicycle. Once we entered the house, I remember we ate something and we were going to watch TV, we always arrived at the time of "The powerpuff girls". I think playing with my brother was my favorite activity outside of school, we really had a great time.

In general, I think my childhood was very beautiful, I had a great time playing with my brother, the only concern we had was to decide what to play.

Post graduate studies

I still haven’t thought about what postgraduate course to do after my career ends, I still have many things to learn and at this time it hasn’t cross my mind if I continue studying later, I haven’t even thought about what to do for my thesis hahaha.

However, as I mentioned in other posts, I would like to work with children, and obvioulsy i would take a course about it, as something related to pedagogy maybe or studies about childhood, but I still haven’t very clear yet , I need to know more about the subject.

Neither do I know if I would like to study it here or in another country. If I were away from Chile, I would like a country that is good at the subject, in order to specialize well on the subject, however my dream has always been to go to study in Spain, because I have always liked that country and it is good at humanistic careers.

On the other hand, something that I would like that is not related to my career is to be able to take a course in another language, such as French or Catalan, I think that learning another language opens up your way of thinking a bit, since there are often expressions that are very difficult to translate and it is better to understand them from their original language. I would like to learn Catalan because it is a bit related to the idea of being able to go to Spain, besides I like it a lot, and French because I have always had a fascination for that language since I was very little hahaha.

Anyway, I think I have a lot to think about what to do after I graduate, I have not done because I rested on the idea that I still have a couple of years to go, but as they say, time flies by and I hope to have everything well organized and thought of before and not have to face the situation of not knowing what to do.

My future job

Hi everyone, today I will write about where I would like to work in a few more years.

Currently, I am studying sociology so that in the future I can work my practicing profession.

However, there are other things that I would like to do. I have always wanted to work with children, but not in a traditional space such as school, I can't imagine where in specific but I would love to teach and at the same time learn from them, because children always have many things to say and sometimes they surprise you a lot.

I have not thought much about salary, obviously I would like to have a salary that reaches me to live with what is necessary, and maybe a little more to get money for travel. My dream is to go to Iceland.

In my career I have not investigated much how you can work with children, I know there is a "Sociology of childhood" but I don't know beyond the name, I am not very worried because I still have a couple of years to finish to degree.

I think it could be an advantage to be able to work in this area because I have not listened to many sociologist who work with children and many news stories that relate a lot to children have appeared, such as Sename problems, child abuse and rape, among others.

I hope to work in this area, I love sharing with children, they are always full of love and my soul breaks when I read some news about their suffering.

My friends

Hi, today I will write about my friends.

I think there are many things thar are needed to have a good friendship, for me it is confidence, and or course, to always be in the good and bad times. 

I have very good friends, but generally it's hard for me to make friends, I think I am very close person with my friendship groups, but is because in those places I feel very comfortable, I have a good time and as I feel said confident. My two great friendship groups are my friends from the university and my friends from school.

My friends from university met them in 2016 when we entered, many people told me that halfway through the career I would not have the same friends, but it did not happen in this case. I think we are getting closer and thanks to them, I have a good time at the university, because the test periods are difficult times and we are always there for the other. Now we are preparing our vacations to Boivia, I am very anxious with this trip.

My other group, they are my friends from school, we have been friends for years and they are like my sisters. We have spent many things together. I think no one knows as much about my life as they do, besides sharing it in large part with them. I know that they will be there for anything, so they have shown me for almos eight years. I don't change them gor anything, and I think we'll be friends for a long time.

I value my friends very much, I believe that without them life would be sad, because they are the ones who give most of the time happiness to my moments, for that reason I am eternally grateful. I love them so much.

Films

Hello, today I will write about movies that I like.

My favorite genre of movies is thriller, because I love mystery and sometimes play with the human mind. The last movie I saw of this genre was a "Contratiempo", a spanish movie released in 2017.

However, my favorite movie of all time, and that is also the genre thriller, is the Sinister Island, which is starring Leonardo DiCaprio. This film was set in 1954, when two policemen, including DiCaprio, went to the psychiatric hospital of the Sinister Island to investigate the disappearance of Rachel Solando, a patient who disappeared from her room that was completely closed. The film develops this investigation, which is full of hidden mysteries, where DiCaprio will try to decipher without going crazy, because apparently everything that happens on the island is strange and hidden.

I really like this movie, because it has everything that I love, it has mystery, riddles, secrets and plays with our minds all the time, where you do not know if the end of the movie is real or false. I still do not know it despite seeing it twice. I recommend it totally.

Anyway, I would love to see this movie again, but I would also like to see again "El secreto de sus ojos", one of the best Argentine movies of the last years, because when I saw her I feel that I did not enjoy it very much and I think that It deserves another opportunity.

The best holidays

My best holidays were on January of this year. I went to Chiloé for scout camp for two week.

The campsite was in town called Huillinco. The first week I wen with the older children to "backpacking" through Chiloé and we went to several places.

We started our trip to Dalcahue and we stayed one night in this place in the courtyard of man, who was very kind in receiving us, a group of about 30 people.

The next day we left early for the Achao Island that is front of Dalcahue to the east. When arriving at the island we decided to go the town Quinchao, which is at the end of the island. We arrived at this place as at lunchtime approximately, we stayed during the day in the main square, where cooked and we rode by bicycle, because in the municipality he lent bicycles for free. At the end of the day we did not know where to stay, so we asked to the municipality for help and we were able to stay in the boarding school. In exchange for their help, we told them that next day we could clean the beach. We stayed two nights there.

The day we left we wanted to go to another island but we were not going to reach the time, then we went to Cucao for two days.

All this we did by "autostop".

The second week came the youngest children (from 7 to 11 years old), where I am in charge of the girls. We made many fun games for the girls, also we went for walk Cucao. 

They were my best holidays because I knew many magical places in southern Chile and I could learn a lot from children in genereal, who always have great ideas.

Iceland

My country favorite is Islandia or Iceland, I have always wanted to go to travel of this place, because I think is a country very amazin and magic.

Iceland is located northwest of Eyurope in the Atlantic Ocean, it is a place with very low temperatures and it has a landscape from another planet. Also from this island you can see the Northern Ligths, whicj has been the dram of my whole life, and this would be the main visit I would do in this country.

If traveled to this Iceland I would try to know all the possible places although the days are very cold. I would like to know all its landscapes, meals, typical places, its and much more.

However, I would travel alone fot a while, because I do not think it would last so many days with cold, to travel yo this country only be to know ir, but later I would like to go to Spain, which is another of the conuntries with which I dream to kanow. I would go ti Spain firts to study and the worl and also to know clearly.
